Hola,

I'm Gaby Ramirez. I am the author of the Tilo the Cat series. I live in Corcoran, a small farming community in the heart of the great San Joaquin Valley in California. I come from a large Mexican American family where Spanglish in the dominant language. I have four older brothers and one little sister, and NUMEROUS nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and well, you get the picture. You will meet most of them in the Tilo the Cat series because my crazy family always provides me with lots of material.

I decided to write the Tilo the Cat series right after Tilo got arrested. It was a story that just had to be told. Then I got to thinking. There are many funny stories to share about Tilo. I mean, how many cats take bubble baths, drink sweet tea and go swimming. I have written seven books so far. I'm sure there will be more to come. Each story is based on a real event. Tilo actually does have a little amigo named Kitty Carlos, and he does love sweet tea and tamales. And yes, he really did get arrested.

When Tilo and I aren't swimming, or having tea parties or cuddling up on the couch watching our novelas, I am busy working. In real life, I am a singer/songwriter. I sing in Spanish and English. I got my start in Mariachi music and have actually toured throughout Mexico and the Southwest. Currently, I am working on my new album, which will be mostly in English.
